About MidMaze
-------------
MidMaze is one of the multimedia players for Windows 95/98.
MidMaze has a lot of features and it is very easy to use.
In addition, MidMaze is shareware. That means, you can
copy and distribute it however you like without paying
anything to me. However, you only can use this program
for an evaluation period of 30 days. If you are still
using this program after 30 days, you must register or
uninstall this program from your hard disk.

To get more information about how to register, please
read the Help file.

Installing MidMaze
------------------
To install MidMaze, just run mmazeprset.exe and follow
on-screen instructions.

Known Issues
------------
 1. MidMaze uninstall program will NOT automatically
remove MidMaze file associations. Make sure that
you have removed the check in the MidMaze file
association checkboxes before you uninstall it
or you will have some trouble opening those files.
 2. Beware that the Remove Duplicates feature will
delete items that have the same destination file
AND items that have the same title.
 3. MidMaze takes some CPU time when it is open (about
15%-20%). So, if you want to work with other
Windows applications, make sure you minimize it
first. When minimized, MidMaze only takes about
1%-2% of the total CPU time.
 4. MidMaze sometimes will not play the right file if
there are duplicate song names. To solve this
problem if you found one, go to Albums Editor and
    click the "Remove Duplicates" button.
 5. If the length of a file is shorter than the intro
start position, the file will be played from
position 0 (from the beginning of the file).
 6. When you skip (or drag the trackbar) and a MIDI
file with lyrics is played, you will notify that
some lyrics are "missing". This is normal.
 7. When you have Lyrics Window docked to main window,
and you have shrinked it so it looks like a bar
than a window, drag the "bar" up to enlarge the
    window again.
 8. If you want to open multiple files from Windows
Explorer and MidMaze is your default player,
please make sure that MidMaze has been launched
before you do that, or you will get a lot of
error messages. This is a known problem and will
be fixed as soon as possible.
 9. There are very few weird Karaoke MIDI files that
can't be played very well by MidMaze. The music
will play quite well, but the lyrics won't be
synchronized. Even most sequencer programs out
there can't play them properly! This is a known
problem and I'm looking forward to fix it.
10. The uninstall program will NOT remove any albums
and items you have. To remove them permanently,
delete each album (for the Temporary album, just
remove all items), then use the Compact all
albums function to purge them. When you uninstall
MidMaze, some settings will still be left in your
Windows Registry, but they take only little
space. If you want to remove them also (advanced
users ONLY), use RegEdit to delete the keys:
    HKCU\Software\Hendy Irawan\MidMaze
    HKLM\Software\Hendy Irawan\MidMaze
11. When you uninstall MidMaze, a file named
SetupHendy.exe will still be left in your
Windows folder. You can delete this file if you
    wish.

FAQ
---

Q = Myself/someone
A = Me (from different personalities)

Q: Why does MidMaze have a great number of bugs?
A: I always try to create programs without (any) bugs,
so if you found one please contact me by e-mail.

Q: I don't like MidMaze's user interface. Why did you
   design it like that?
A: That's my style. Any idea/suggestion?

Q: Why did you move the standard album editor stuff
(before 1.4) to another window (1.4 and up)?
A: My main unit file was too complex, so I moved the
   other half to another unit.
A: MidMaze window looks too big on 640x480 displays.
A: I like it that way.

Q: Why did you make MidMaze shareware?
A: I have to make some money... I also have to pay my
Internet connection fees, telephone billings, etc.
Q: Wait a minute! Those stuff should be your parents'
   responsibility!
A: Don't ask me about it.

Q: What MIDI player do you use at home?
A: (honestly) MidMaze.

Q: Why does MidMaze has so many import/export
functions? I don't see any one of them (if any,
only a few) in other programs.
A: I just want to make users' lives easy.

Q: But, why did you also create the export functions?
A: The more functions, MidMaze will look more
   "sophisticated".
A: If my users found another multimedia player which is
better than MidMaze, they shouldn't have problems
   exporting their current albums. ;-)

Q: My Karaoke MIDI file played like hell. What the?!?!
A: Send it to me. But, if I can't solve the problem,
   then please calm yourself.

Q: Is there a way to maximize MidMaze's main window?
   There's no maximize button.
A: I don't know why do you want this. But sorry, the
   answer is no.

Q: What should I do if MidMaze caused a GPF and my
   hard disk was destroyed entirely?
A: Before that happened, read the License Agreement in
   the help file.

Q: Why does the title bar's font always the same as
   Lyrics Window's font?
A: I made it that way. If you don't like it, contact
   me.

Q: My MIDI file's lyrics are blending each other. How
   to prevent that?
A: Use the same color for "Lyrics: Background" and
   "Lyrics: Highlighted background".

Q: I have used another Multimedia player application
for a long time. I want to import its playlists to
MidMaze, how do I do that?
A: Open the "Edit albums" window, create a new album,
then click on the "Album operations..." button, if
your application is listed on the menu, then select
it. If it doesn't, you can try using the standard
"Import from file" function and select the playlist
file. If it doesn't work, please contact me.

Q: Why don't you use OnStopTracking for your trackbar?
A: No, I like it that way, and most people do. I like
to change the position of the file before I release
   the mouse button, not after.

Q: Sometimes, the combo boxes don't repaint properly.
   Is this a bug?
A: Maybe. It happenned occasionally and also in other
programs. If this is not a Windows bug, then it's a
   Delphi bug, but not mine.

Q: I was trying to export/import from/to other programs,
but the result was not quite satisfying. What
   happenned?
A: Maybe you have the "unsupported" version of that
program. MidMaze's import/export functions has been
tested with MidiMaster 6.0/7.5, MidiPlus 1.55, MIDI
Genie 1.06, MidPlay 1.3, vanBasco's MIDI Player Beta
version, and MM Player 3.0. If you have an older
version, please upgrade. But if you have a newer
version, please notify me so I can update export/
   import routines.

Q: Why does the Move/rename button disabled when I play
   an MPEG Audio file?
A: Because of the locking mechanism used by the MPEG
Audio decoder engine, it is truely impossible to do
   such thing.

Q: Why does MidMaze delay after stopping playback when
   playing an MPEG Audio file?
A: Because of the streaming method used by the MPEG
Audio decoder engine, I must calm down the engine
first, about 3 seconds. I have tried without this
many times, and all I got was just errors and
sometimes I had to restart Windows (oooh...)
However, I also suspect that this 3 seconds delay is
not enough yet, so if you still having problems
playing MPEG Audio files, tell me and I will
increase the delay to about 4 seconds.

Q: Why does MidMaze say "? KB" but the file is there?
A: I'm not sure. This could be a (known) bug but I
haven't figured out how did it happenned.

Q: Hey, after I evaluated this program for 30 days,
do I have another option for enabling MidMaze's
functions other than legally registering this
   great program?
A: Yes, you do.
