1. INTRODUCTION
===============
Whether at work or play, use RestReminder(TM) to promote your 
health and happiness. You can experience the benefits of this fun 
tool to prevent  Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI) or Carpal Tunnel 
Syndrome (CTS). Whether you are a "Nintendo" addict or a 
professional "mouse pusher", RestReminder is good for you!
RestReminder simply reminds you when it is the time to rest.
The small, unobtrusive reminder window appears in the rightmost
corner of the screen during a pause of inactivity (no keystrokes,
no clicks). The reminder window closes after a few seconds
(adjustable), or if you click it shut. RestReminder's friendly
Options window makes it easy to customize settings for how often or
how long the reminder message appears. It even notifies you of
excessive keystrokes or mouse clicks!

RestReminder is indispensable in maintaining a regular schedule of
breaks. 


2. TECHNICAL INFORMATION
========================
2.1 Setup
---------
Setup wizard helps you install RestReminder on your computer.
Double-click on RestReminder's self-extracting EXE file to launch
setup wizard. Simply follow the instructions. The setup creates
Intes RestReminder program group and it is available in your Start
menu. The setup also adds new icon to your Startup folder so 
RestReminder starts every time you start your computer.

2.2 Upgrade
-----------
If you are upgrading to a newer version of RestReminder, setup will
detect if you have any previous settings on your computer. You can
choose if you want to keep them or delete and use defaults instead.
It is not necessary to uninstall previous version of RestReminder.
When upgrading on Windows NT setup you may be asked to restart your
to complete your setup.

2.3 Uninstall
-------------
If you wish to uninstall RestReminder, choose 'Uninstall Intes
RestReminder' from Start->Intes RestReminder menu. On certain
occasions you may be warned to restart your computer to ensure
proper uninstallation.


2.4 System requirements
-----------------------
- 486 CPU or higher
- 8 MB of RAM
- Windows 95 / 98 / NT 4.0 or higher
- Mouse or compatible pointing device
- 1 MB of free harddisk space


3. DISTRIBUTION
===============
Intes RestReminder is distributed as SHAREWARE.
You may evaluate it free of charge for 30 days.
After your free trial period expires, you are must uninstall it 
from your computer, or buy full working version.

4. FEATURES
===========
4.1 Rest Options
----------------
Using Rest Options you can:
- Set number of keystrokes and mouse clicks after which you would 
like to rest your wrists.
- Set time period wafter which you would like to rest your eyes.
- Set your hourly break. The best time is few minutes before full
hour.
- Set your lunch time alarm.
- Set your reminder that your work time is over and it's time to 
go home.

Your settings are kept for every user of your computer separately.
Whenever you log on to your Windows 95/98/NT computer, your 
settings are there for you. 

4.2 Reminders
-------------
Reminder windows display current reminder message. They appear on 
the right of the screen.
- Large reminder window with countdown close button is turned on by
default. The reminder will close automatically so you don't need to
click on the "Close" button. The large reminder is fully moveable
accross the screen and remembers it's position.
- Smaller reminder window which appears above the taskbar is off by
default. It displays the same message as the larger one and 
occupies less space on the screen, like a tooltip. It will close 
automatically after the number of seconds specified. If you wish to
shut it down, just click inside the window.
- Reminder windows display icons associated with available types of
rest. 
- Reminder window color can be easily changed to become more 
visually noticable and be distinguished from other windows.
- Delay of display of reminders can be adjusted. If you wish to be 
reminded to rest while typing, turn this option off. 
- The reminder windows won't interrupt you by taking focus away 
from your active window. If you don't want to have a break, just 
ignore them.
- Any or both reminder window can be turned on or off.

Audio reminder is a beep played from your sound card or PC speaker.
- Number of times the beep is played is adjustable.
- You may want to audio reminder off if your colleagues prefer 
silent office. Just uncheck the audio reminder option.
 
During visual or audio reminder acivity you can click once on the
RestReminder's green bell icon in the taskbar to shut reminders 
down.

Time interval between the moment you stop using your keyboard or
mouse, and the moment of rest alarm is adjustable. If you turn off
this option, the reminders will appear as you type or click, but
they won't interrupt you, of course. 

During screen saver activity RestReminder won't display reminder 
messages. It assumes you are having a rest or you are not using 
your PC. Nevertheless, it will remind you if it is lunch time or 
time to go home.

If you don't have screen saver installed on you PC, RestReminder 
will assume you are having a rest after 20 minutes of inactivity.

4.3 Green bell icon in the taskbar:
-----------------------------------
The green bell icon indicates RestReminder is active. 
- A left click on the icon immediately shuts down any active alarm.
- A double-click on the icon displays Options window.
- A right-click on the icon shows a small menu in which you can:
* Display Options dialog
* Disable RestReminder. The bell icon will change to indicate 
RestReminder is inactive. You can activate it again by choosing the
same option.
* Display About... dialog box.

4.4 Other features
------------------
- To exit RestReminder, use File->Exit menu option. It will prompt 
you to save any unsaved changes.
- You can check the "Show this dialog on startup" option in Options
dialog. The Options dialog will then appear every time you start 
your computer.
- Options window can be closed by clicking OK button, a close 
button in the window title bar, or by choosing File->Close option.
- To disable RestReminder chose File->Disable option in Option 
window's menu. To enable it again later, choose File->Enable menu 
option.
- If you wish to contact Intes Inc. and tell us your opinion about 
this software, you can choose Help->Contact Us menu option. It will
launch your web browser and display a Web page with instructions 
how to reach us.
- Under the Help menu you can also choose options to launch your 
Web browser and visit our Web sites.
