These packages do not include the required Visual Basic runtime files and common
controls due to the immense size of those distributables. You may already have
them installed on your system, if not - they are readily available at various
locations on the Internet. If you get an error message saying that something
couldn't be loaded or similar notices, you're probably in need of the file mentioned.

DLLs and OCXs in Windows95 need to be registered. A very few register themselves -
ie., you stick them in the /Windows/System directory and the first program to attempt
to use them registers them. Others require you to use Regsvr32.exe, also available
freely on the Internet at the standard locations. In practically every case, this
means you just run " Regsvr32 mydll.dll" and all is set up.

I would suggest looking at Carl & Gary's VB Home page - located as of this writing
at http://www.apexsc.com/vb/index.html. If you can't find it there, you're probably
out of luck.

They also do not include install programs. Most of these apps just need to have
all the files in the archive in the same directory. Exceptions will have proper
documentation. I know setup progs are nice, but it's usually overkill to include
the standard 1.5 MB install program to plug in a 50K executable.

I apologize if you find this situation inconvenient. I find it necessary in order to
continue offering these packages for free or as low cost shareware. Please understand
that I can't afford to cover ongoing expenses for freely offered software. In addition,
I get many complaints from power users who are annoyed with the excess baggage that they
don't really need. I feel most of my applications cater towards them, so I adopt the
practice. If you can't help yourself, consider finding a friend who can help you or
registering the package - for which you will receive proper support.

Thanks for your time and consideration; I hope the usefulness of the software offset your
trouble in setting it up!
