Freeware.

Overview:
--------

DUAX 98 Lite is a simplified implementation for Windows 98 of the
previous version (Duax11.zip) that would only run under Windows 95
with the original dial-up networking component installed (not with
the newer DUNs v1.2 or v1.3). Though it has fewer features (no
easy way to modify the soundfiles, no logging, no connection speed
indication), the main purpose of the program (sounding an audible
alarm when an Internet connection is established or broken) is of
course maintained.

DUAX 98 Lite should also work on Windows 95.

It is especially useful if you have more than one computer connected
in a local area network and sharing a single modem. Without an audible
alarm one of the computers (the ones without the modem) might establish
unintentional and unnoticed modem connections.

Installation:
------------

Installation is automatic: just double click on Setup.exe.
However, for the program to start automatically each time you
boot your computer, you should put a shortcut to it in your
Startup group.

Uninstalling:
------------

Only uninstall using the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control
Panel.

Usage:
-----

When Duax 98 Lite is running (it normally is as soon as you boot the
computer unless you clicked the Exit button) it will automatically
start up whenever a modem connection to the Internet is established.

Clicking on the "Hide" button minimizes the application and a flashing
telephone will then be visible in the system tray as long as the modem
is online.

Left clicking on the phone icon in the system tray restores the
application to its normal size.

Requirements:
------------

Soundcard.
