NCAA Bracket is an excellent tool for managing office "pools" during the NCAA basketball Tournament. The application required is Filemaker Pro Version 3.0 or better. The file is password protected so that users can only Browse existing records without the ability to modify records, fields or layouts. Registered ADMINISTRATORs will receive a password which allows full edit capability.

There is no manual for this database. Filemaker Pro is a very user-friendly application which is both Mac and PC compatible. An INFORMATION file is provided which describes the features of this file. The enclosed file was developed on a Mac and proofed on a PC. Times New Roman was the chosen font due to its universal availability and cross platform compatibility.

The program enclosed is the one used for the 1999 Tournament. It will be updated for the 2000 Tournament (and subsequent years) and distributed via email to registered ADMINISTRATORs following the Selection Committee's parings announcement.

There are 13 layouts available to facilitate data input, score monitoring and status report printing.

Default Scoring criteria is as follows: 1 pt for first round; 2 pts for second round; 4 pts for third round; 8 pts for fourth round; 16 pts for fifth round; and 32 pts for final game. These values can be changed, if desired, in the WINNER INPUT layout.

Two (2) levels of access are supported: Participants (or PLAYERs) in the pool can access the database without a password (if database is made available on a server or a shared hard drive). Not entering a password allows READ ONLY capability. The ADMINISTRATOR of the pool (person doing all the work) can enter a password which gives him/her full edit capability to add/delete/edit new brackets/picks, define scoring criteria, and enter NCAA game winners.

This is Shareware
This is shareware. When you register you will receive a registration number and a password (via U.S. mail or e-mail) that will allow full edit capability of the database. Each year, following Sunday's Selection day parings, the database will be updated to the new teams and distributed to registered users. If you believe this program would be useful to you this year, please send in the requested registration fee of $5. Once registered, registration fee for subsequent years will only be $4. Thank you for your support.
