Golf League Recorder v2.93 for 32 bit Windows
(c)2002 Brown's Computerworks

System Requirements: All Current Windows OS

Run the Setup program included with Golf League Recorder to
install GLR on your hard drive.

Golf League Recorder can be un-installed at any time by using the
Windows Control Panel Add/Remove feature. An icon for
launching GLR will be created in your Start Menu 'Programs '
section.

If you already have a copy of GLR, it is safest to install this
version in a different directory and do not overwrite your
program files. See instructions below to save your existing
Golf data Files.

Note: If you are UPDATING TO VERSION 2.9, be sure to save your,
GOLFLR.DAT file, COURSE.DAT file and especially your LEAGUE
(.LGE) files and Team (.TEA) files.

These files represent your existing data
information. Make a copy of these files occasionally as a
backup. Install them in the directory with this
new version of GLR to keep your current information.

To import your files from an older version of GLR...

1. Copy your existing league files (.LGE) into the directory
where GLR resides.
2. If you have team data records (v2.7 or 2.8),
copy your existing team data files (.TEA) into the directory
where GLR resides.
3. Copy your existing Course.DAT and GOLFLR.DAT files into
the directory where GLR resides, replacing the files that came
with the program.

If you are updating from one of the later versions that has backup and restore features, you can restore to the new program from your backup floppy.

  GETTING STARTED...

Please take the time to read the information for each topic to
get the most enjoyment and benefit from this program.
Golf League Recorder can be used for personal record keeping
as well as supporting Leagues with up to 100 members per file.
The information below is a brief overview of the steps required
to operate Golf League Recorder. Click on the INFO buttons to
review more detailed explanations as you use the program.

Quick Start Basics...
1. From the File menu, choose Create League to create a file for
your data. Then click on OPEN League File to load the file.

2. From the Players menu, choose Add Player. Enter the names of
those in your group & select the tee that they usually play from.
Click on the Add button to add them to the record file.

3. From the Courses menu, choose Add Course to bring up the course
entry window. Fill in the Name, par for each hole, the rating
for each tee and the slope rating. If you do not know the slope
rating, use 113. Also, enter 'Initials' for the course, to be
used on the summary reports.

4. You are now ready to enter Scores. Choose Enter Rounds from
the File menu. Check that the date is correct in the lower left
side of the window. Click on the names of the people who played.
Select the course played from the box on the lower right side of
the window. Once you have completed your selections, Click on
the Accept button to continue.

5. Enter the Adjusted score for each hole, or simply enter the
front nine and back nine totals if you do not need a hole by hole
record. Some Analysis functions may not include results for
holes that do not have a value, but the totals and handicap
index along with the future Course handicap will be computed
normally. See your USGA rules or read the info on Adjusted Scores.
Note: If you will be playing nine hole rounds, check the program
settings from the File menu and read the information topic
Nine Hole Rounds for choosing how the program will compute for
rounds with less than 18 holes played.

Viewing the Results...

6. Once all scores have been recorded, Choose the View you
prefer from the View menu. The data can be displayed in
three manners; Most recent rounds, by date or by Individual.
The arrow buttons on the lower right of the main window cause
the display to go back for past rounds or earlier dates.

7. The handicap index for the latest round played for each
player can be used at any course to determine a Course
handicap for the next round.
Note: The course handicap (scroll to the far right of the
information line) is applicable only if the player plays
the same course as they did when the last round was
recorded, otherwise the handicap index must be used with
a course handicap table.

8. From the File menu, choose Program Registration to
register your copy to enable hardcopy printing of your
reports. (only $19.95)

9. Golf League Recorder should prove to be perfect for smaller
casual Leagues and groups. GLR does not produce a handicap that
is recognized as official by any organization.
No guarantees of any kind are made concerning the output of Golf League
Recorder.

When a League file is created, Golf League Recorder
creates a file with the name you selected and attaches
the .LGE suffix. The .LGE files should be backed up
from time to time like any other valuable data.
Also backup your Course.dat and Golflr.dat file.
League files should only be deleted or removed by using
the Delete option in the Create/Delete File section.

NOTE: It is best not to delete League files or team files manually,
because the name of the league would remain on the Open League Menu List.
