ReadMe.txt -- Notes for BibleKey Sermon Outlines 2.1 Application

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTE:
The Visual Basic runtime files for VB 4.0 are not provided via this
download but are available from this URL:
	http://www.simtel.net/simtel.net/win95/dll.html
The zip file you would request would be vb40032.zip which contains the
following files:
  MSVCRT40.DLL
  OLEPRO32.DLL
  VB40032.DLL
Please check in your Windows\System directory to see whether you already
have these files or whether you need to download them.

Purpose:
The BibleKey Sermon Outlines application allows the user to index
and retrieve any type of notes or sermon outlines related to specific Bible
passages or theological topics. In addition, a large number of outlines
from various preachers are available in prebuilt databases for the
edification of the user. However, I have not provided these in this Internet
distribution because the time to download the files would be a problem.
This "slimmed down" version contains a large number of my own sermons and
a User template database for you to store your own material.

If you are interested in more data, please contact me via email and I will
try to secure some ftp capability or other Internet distribution or maybe
some CD-Rom distribution.

I am also interested in using this vehicle to obtain additional databases
from interested users who might want to make their exegetical sermon
outlines (or database of sermon illustrations) available to the general
public. Please contact me if you are interested. Obviously I will pick
and choose what I want to include.

As always, the Scriptures remain the primary source material and should be
approached directly with prayer for the assistance of the Holy Spirit to
help make the meaning plain and to help make the application specific to
one`s walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. These outlines are intended to be
just one additional resource to enhance that necessary personal and direct
Bible study. They should prove to be valuable both as a devotional guide
for all Christians as well as an exegetical tool for those preparing to
teach a passage or subject.

Installation:
Please run the Setup.exe program to install the program to the
directory of your choice. The default directory suggested is "C:\BibleKey".
It is important that all of the database files remain in the same directory
as the application program.

You can contact me via email with questions or comments. However,
there will be no support accompanying this progam, and the liability for its
installation and use rests with you the user.

There is no requirement for Registration, but if you could drop me
an email or a postcard with your name and address I would like to have
references for possible future products or updates. (Please reference
"BibleKey 2.1" in the Subject line.)

Distribution Vision:
A long range plan for distribution has not yet been determined.
My present preference is to make the program available as freeware, but
to give opportunity for donations thru some type of Christian non-profit
foundation or organization to assist with the further development of this
project. However, I have not yet worked out these details. This program
is copyrighted and may not be sold or distributed in any form for profit.
However, you may give it away as freeware as long as the program is not
altered in any way. Any databases you might add to such a distribution
would become your sole responsibility.

Goal:
This BibleKey Sermon Outlines application is one attempt to help
the Body of Christ fulfill the Apostle Paul`s exhortation to Timothy:

"And the things which you have heard from me in the presence
of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be
able to teach others also." (2 Tim. 2:2)

A word of caution regarding any such Bible research tool:

"Knowledge puffs up but love edifies" (1 Cor. 8:1)

So the goal is not to pile up as many sermon outlines as we can; rather:

"the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good
conscience and a sincere faith" (1 Tim. 1:5)
