Welcome:

1.- What is OBServer? (OBServer.exe and Windl32s.exe Version 1.0)

Its a FreeWare Software for Remote Access under a TCP/IP based
Network (LAN Recommended) for Microsoft Windows OS environment. And
This software is intented for Administering Users in a public
(Cybercafes) or non-public areas where surf content restriction apply.

That is, if you manage a Cybercafe, and want to administer the users
what they do or see, and if they broke any rule (like watching porn
sites or the bad use of the PC) you can send them warnings, shutdown
the computer, log them off, send them nag screens, etc.

You can also use remote scripting for computer care or automation.
That is, if you want to run scandisk automatically on each computer
of your LAN or do remote Task in serial procesing.

2.- What files come with OBServer?

    Install.exe

3.- How do I install OBServer Software?

Well, first of all, OBServer consists on the idea of One Client - Many
Servers, so WINDL32S is the server software and OBSERVER.EXE is the
client part.

You Must install WINDL32S option of Install.exe in each computer
you want to remotely view or manage. Once copied, you run WINDL32S.EXE
and it will act as a TSR (Terminal and Stay Resident) program, you won't
see any screen saying its running, so, use windows TASKMAN or press
Ctrl-Alt-Del to see if it is under memory.

In order to WINDL32S work correctly, each computer must be logged
in the Network, that is, when you startup your computer, and
Windows prompts for Username and password, you must enter
a valid login, once logged, run WINDL32S, and it will work correctly.

To Setup the Main Computer to watch on others, select the OBServer
option of Install.exe to any directory of your choice, In order for
OBServer to work correctly, you also must be logged in the Network
with a valid Windows Username and password. PLEASE!!! create
a TEMP Directory under C:\, in other words, create C:\TEMP
and make it a Network Share Resource with full Access. You may
ask, why? because this is where the screen of the remote pc
is saved and many other files must be (That is for the Play Video
and Display Picture on remote PC options in the Tools Window).

4.- How do I use OBServer Client App?

Ok, when you are running OBServer.exe and you see the main screen,
at your left you can see the Tools Window or Bar, each option
contains a Tooltip text that says what each icon or option is for.

I will recommend pressing the "Connect to Remote PC" option first,
and it will ask for a PC to connect to, so you can enter the Computer
Name or IP address. Of Course, the computer you are connecting
must have WINDL32S.EXE running.
Once Connected you can experiment with the other option tools.

IMPORTANT NOTE: THE TEMP DIRECTORY MUST BE A NETWORK SHARE WITH
FULL ACCESS, AND THE VIDEO FILES, PICTURE FILES, OR ANY FILE
YOU WANT TO SEND OR PLAY ON THE REMOTE PC YOU ARE CONNECTED,
MUST BE IN THIS DIRECTORY.

5.- What if this doesnt work at all?

My best wishes to you, this software is freeware, and it worked
pretty well under Windows 98 and under a Windows NT Network, it also
worked with a Network Connection using Belkin Direct Connect device
between 2 computers, one was a IBM ThinkPad 380XD with Windows 98
and the other was a Intel Celeron PC with 300Mhz of speed using
Windows ME, of Course, using the TCP/IP protocol.

   ......duh

12.- Does OBServer Software has bugs?

Maybe, The shift key on the Virtual Keyboard doesnt work.
The "open" option on the Temp Directory Window doesn't work,
you must use the right-click of your mouse to open a file.

The File Explorer is not as flexible as any other File Explorer.

The use of the Virtual Keyboard with the Remote Display is
   quite slow.!!

Further Testing of OBServer software is unknown....
