PROGRAM FEATURES. nKONVERT has the following features:

	1. SOURCE DIRECTORY. nKONVERT allows the user to select the Source
Directory from which files are selected for conversion. To select a source directory, click
the tab labeled "Source Files." In the frame titled "Source Files", select the drive and the directory using your mouse. Note the files listed in the files listbox. In the "View Files" frame, click the option button to select the type of files you want to view in the file list box.

	2. DESTINATION DIRECTORY. nKONVERT allows the user to select the
Destination Directory to which converted files are saved. To select a Destination
Directory, click the tab labeled "File Destination." In the frame titled "File Destination", using your mouse select the drive and the directory to which you want to save the converted files. Once files are converted, the destination file list box is updated to show the file converted. The user also has the option to add a new folder at the currently
selected directory, by pushing the Add New Folder button.

	3. FILE SELECTION. There are several ways to select files for conversion.
Using the mouse, click on the file name in the Source Files filebox and then clicking on
the Add File button. Using the shift key and the mouse, multiple files can be selected
prior to clicking on the Add File button. The second method is to double-click on the file
name and watch the file name entered into the Files To Convert list box. Once Files are
selected and located in the Files To Convert list box, you can remove them by first
selecting them and then clicking the Remove File button or just double-clicking on the
file name.

3.1 Add File Button. Clicking on this button will add the files selected in the
Source Files Listbox to the Files To Convert listbox.

3.2 Remove File Button. Clicking on this button will remove any files selected in
the Files To Convert listbox.

3.3 Clear All Button. Clicking on this button will clear the Files To Convert
Listbox.

	4. CONVERSION OPTIONS. nKONVERT provides three conversion processes
that can be applied to the file to be converted.

4.1 Remove HTML Commands. This check box instructs the program to remove
HTML commands from the input file and converts character entities (e.g., " is
converted to a single quotation mark) to their respective characters. In addition,
nKONVERT processes ordered list items by inserting sequential numbers for each list
item. The user should be aware that nKONVERT does not implement all features of
HTML 3.2. Note, for example, bullets are not inserted in unordered lists and tables are
not preserved, althought text in tables is recovered. E-mail addresses and image
references that are encapsulated in HTML commands are eliminated. The output file is
the displayed text from the web page. This command should not be used for ordinary
text files.

4.2 Process Paragraphs. Once text is recovered from E-mail text files or from
web pages, pairs of Carriage Returns (CR) and Line Feed (LF) characters at the end of
each text line, prevent paragraphs from being reformatted in your word processor. This
means lots of manual work to eliminate these. NKONVERT will automatically process
these CR-LF pairs to reformat the paragraph for you, saving you many hours of
manually editing files.

4.3 Process Spaces. Once text and paragraphs are recovered from E-mail files
or web pages, occurrences of multiple spaces occur. E-mail text files are notorious for
having a series of leading spaces at the beginning of each text line. When removing
HTML commands from web pages, multiple spaces are frequently found between words.
When checked, nKONVERT is instructed to process and remove multiple spaces.
nKONVERT will also insert two spaces at the end of a sentence and ensure that a single
space exists after a comma. Unfortunately, this algorithm has a side effect of inserting
a double space in forms of addressing (e.g., Mr. John Doe). At this point of time, the
user will have to carefully review and edit the resulting document.

5.0 Output File Extension. To assist word processors in recognizing the files
which have been converted, the output file extension can be changed. The *.doc
extension is designed for Microsoft Word and related word processors. The *.txt
extension is designed for Microsoft Notepad or Wordpad or related word processors.
The *.wpd extension is designed for Corel WordPerfect.

5.1 DOC File *.doc - Sets the dos output file extension to *.doc. Allows

5.2 TXT File *.txt - Sets the dos output file extension to *.txt.

5.3 WPD File *.wpd - Sets the dos output file extension to *.wpd.

	6. FILE CONVERSION - To convert the files in the Files to Convert listbox, click
on the CONVERT FILES button.

6.1 CONVERT FILES Button - When the user clicks on this button, the files in
the Files To Convert listbox are converted and saved in the destination directory.

6.2 ABORT Button - If the user initiates file conversion, but decides to abort the
conversion process, the user can click this button, and the file conversion process will
stop after the current file is processed. Please note that the process is so fast, it may
not be possible to interrupt the conversion process.
