OVERVIEW
Thank you for purchasing a Guru! Software product.  We are committed to making the installation and use of our programs as smooth and effortless as possible. Below are instructions for starting up Evolve! 1. (Note: Download installation occurs automatically when user clicks the downloaded file.)


PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
To run Evolve! 1, you will need a Pentium (or compatible) based PC with 16mb of memory (32+ suggested), and ~30 mb of free hard disk space. In addition you will need to be running Windows 95, Windows 98, or NT 4 or Windows 2000.  

Macintosh users will need a G3-based computer, plus 32mb of memory (48+ suggested), ~40 mb of hard disk space, System 8 or later, and a Windows 95, 98, or NT emulator, such as Virtual PC.

INSTALALTION
-Open the Evolve11.zip file.
-Extract the file Evolve.exe
-Click Unzip
-Select a Typical installation
-Exit out of the Self Extractor program
-If you wish you can delete the folder Evolve on the C:\My Documents folder


STARTING EVOLVE! 1
To start Evolve! 1 click on the Start button in Windows, select Programs, Evolve, and click on Evolve .  Make one of the following choices:

* If you just want to look at the sample data in the program to get a feel for the program, just click on the word "Evolve!" to continue. 
* If you want to remove the sample data in the program so that you can build your own data, you can click on the Clear All Data button.
* (If you have already deleted the sample data and simply want to continue entering your own data click on the word "Evolve!" to continue.)

WARNING: Clicking the Clear All Data button will delete any sample data in the program, plus any data you may have entered on your own.


EXITING EVOLVE! 1 
To exit Evolve! 1, close any window that's open (other than the Navigator) and select Exit from the File menu.  The program will close.

THE EVOLVE! MANUAL
Printing out the Evolve! manual is an optional feature, which you might consider doing at some point. You do not have to print it out now, however.
INSTALLING THE MICROSOFT WORD 97 VIEWER
You will need to have Microsoft Word 97 or 2000, or the Word 97 Viewer to open, use, and print the included manual for Evolve! 1.  
* If you already have Microsoft Word 97 or 2000 installed, please skip to the next topic, Using the Evolve! 1 Manual. 
* If you don't have Microsoft Word 97 or 2000 installed and need to install the Microsoft Word 97 Viewer, select the Start button in Windows, select Programs, Evolve , and click on Install Word 97 Viewer.  Follow the onscreen instructions thereafter.  

(Uninstalling the Microsoft Word 97 Viewer-If at a later time you wish to uninstall the Microsoft Word 97 Viewer (e.g. you obtained Word 97 or 2000), you can do so by using Windows's Add/Remove Control Panel.)
USING THE EVOLVE! 1 MANUAL
You will need to have Microsoft Word 97 or 2000, or the Word 97 Viewer to open, use, and print the enclosed manual for Evolve! 1.  (See the topic "Installing the Word 97 Viewer" above). Here are the two choices for opening the manual:  
* If you have Word 97 or 2000 installed, select the Start button in Windows, and then select Programs, then Evolve , and Manual to use the manual.  
* If you have Word 97 Viewer installed (and not Word 97 or 2000), select the Start button in Windows, and then select Programs, then Microsoft Word Viewer; then the file Manual in C:\Program Files\Evolve .

The manual for Evolve! 1 will open (in either Word 97 or 2000, or the Word 97 Viewer).  You can move among the pages by Evolve clicking on the desired page number in the Table of Contents at the beginning of the manual, or by scrolling.  You can print the manual by selecting Print from the File menu.
UNINSTALLING EVOLVE! 1 
To uninstall Evolve! 1 select Start/Settings/Control panel.  Then Evolve click on the Add/Remove Programs control panel, click on Evolve , click the Add/Remove button, click Remove All, click Yes, and click Restart Windows.
OTHER POINTS
-If you reinstall Evolve! 1 all previous data entered into the program will be lost.
