The AfterTax program allows you to compare the rates of return on differing types of investments, including:

- The Apparent Rate of Return - The face value of a CD or the apparent rate on stocks.

- The Real Rate of Return - The face value, less the effect of taxes for your tax bracket, less the effect of inflation and any potential loss factor.

- The Effective Rate of Return - The Real Rate of Return plus the effect of the tax advantage of deferring taxes on Capital Gains and IRA's.

The program consists of two files, AfterTax.exe and it's Help File, AfterTax.hlp.

Simply make a new folder, such as "After Tax", perhaps in your Program Files folder on your C: drive, and copy these two files two it.

You may also wish to make a desktop shortcut by right clicking on an empty space on your desktop, selecting NEW/SHORTCUT and then browsing and selecting the executable file, AfterTax.exe.

After you enter the program for the first time you may wish to pull down the Quick Start Instructions item from the Title Page menu bar to learn how to best start loading and running the program.
