         Installation Notes
         ------------------

         Literal is a Dos application that runs under Windows 9x. These
         notes require elementary knowledge of Dos.

         Once the original archive literal.zip is unzipped, the program
         LITERAL.EXE may be executed from the command line:

              literal <optional file name>

         The program may also be called from the Windows desktop: just drag
         LITERAL.EXE to the work area. You may then change the standard Dos
         short-cut icon to one whose name is LITICONn, where n is a digit,
         as follows:

              1. Right-click the Dos short-cut icon for Literal;
              2. Click Properties;
              3. Click Program;
              4. Choose Change Icon;
              5. Search;
              6. Select Literal's folder;
              7. Click one of the icons;
              8. Confirm.

         For national keyboard layouts, those that differ from the American
         one, Literal requires the Dos KEYB command to be present in the
         AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

         It is very probable that the KEYB command is already there. In
         case it isn't, here is a simplified syntax:

         KEYB <keyboard name>,[<code page>],<definition file> [/ID:nnn]

         The <definition file> is normally

              C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\KEYBOARD.SYS (1) or
              C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\KEYBRD2.SYS  (2)
