Installation Instructions

 1) Uninstall any previously installed versions of ShopAssist using the Add/Remove Programs option in the Windows Control Panel.
    (Agree to remove any shared dlls which the uninstaller indicates are no longer being used by the system.) 
    Delete any remaining files in the C:\SA directory. 

 2) Move the Zip file you have downloaded to an empty temporary directory, if it is not already in one (e.g. C:\Temp\).

 3) Unzip the file Shopxxx.zip, if you have not already done so (where xxx represents the version of the software contained in the Zip file). Pkunzip, Winzip or any similar unzipping program can be used for this purpose.

 4) Run Setup.exe, either by typing [path]Setup.exe and pressing the Return key in the Windows Run box, or by double clicking on the file name in Windows Explorer or similar file manager.

 5) This program will
    (a) create a directory called C:\Sa off the root directory on drive C if it doesn't already exist
    (b) decompress all the necessary files to the C:\Sa directory
    (c) install the Borland Database Engine and ReportSmith Runtime Viewer in the Program Files directory
    (d) create a ShopAssist icon on the Windows Start menu  

 6) See on-line Help for important information regarding the setting up of ShopAssist on network drives (terminals).
