GENERAL
=======
How do I contact rptMart?
  See the the Help file or our website support page.

RPTMART AND CRYSTAL REPORTS(tm) (CR)
====================================
What is CR?
  CR is Seagate Crystal Reports(tm) which is a registered trademark of Seagate Software, Inc.

Do I need CR?
  rptMart only works on the report files produced by CR.
  rptMart will be no use to you unless you are using CR for your reporting requirements.

Are CR and rptMart associated in any way?
  No. rptMart and its owners are NOT associated with Seagate Crystal Reports(tm) or Seagate Software, Inc.

Where do I get information about CR?
  Start at http://www.seagatesoftware.com/ or search for 'CR' etc.

EVALUATION TRIAL PERIOD/REGISTERING
===================================
What is the trial period?
  The trial period is a time when you can evaluate rptMart in your own work environment.
  The trial expires after you have logged into rptMart 80 times.

What happens after the trial expires?
  You will not be able to logon (until you register).

How/when can I register?
  You can register anytime (during or after the trial period).
  Please be aware that the registration process may take up to 2 business days.
  Its best to register well before the trial expires to ensure that you are not unduly inconvenienced by being locked out.

What's the most important step in the registration process?
  Save time (and money?!) by reading the information in Help.
  Start at 'Registering rptMart' in the Contents.

How much does it cost to register?
  The cost of registering depends on the number of simultaneous user sessions you need for your reporting.
  Current prices are given in on our website and in Help (but these may not be current).

SESSION LIMITS
==============
What is a session?
  A session begins when a user logs on to rptMart and it terminates when they log off.
  Each logon creates a new session and a user may have multiple sessions (subject to the System Administrator's control).

What is the 'Session Limit'?
  This is the maximum simultaneous user sessions that can be active at any time.
  If the system is running at the session limit any users attempting to logon will be refused entry and will have to wait until another user logs off.

How many users can run rptMart at the same time?
  This depends on the session limit for your site.
  You can increase your session limit by purchasing additional session licence packs from rptMart.

What session limit does my site need?
  Save time (and money?!) by reading the information in Help.
  Start at the 'Estimating Session Requirements' subtopic under 'Registering rptMart' in the Contents.
  It is very important that you read these topics.

REQUIREMENTS/CAPABILITIES
=========================
What are the hardware/OS requirements?
  rptMart is a 32bit application which runs under Win95/98/NT/2000 (but not Win3.?? etc)..
  In theory it should perform well on any system that can run CR32 (or other large apps).
  rptMart does not require large amounts of system resources.
  BUT running some reports may use large amounts of memory (just as they would if run in CR).

Will a Win3.x version be released?
  There are no plans to make a Win3.x version.

Can rptMart run reports created with CR version X?
  This release can run reports created with CR version 8.0 'and prior'.
  The 'and prior' is based on the CR claim that the current version can handle report files from prior versions.
  Although this appears to be generally true you may encounter situations where database drivers etc. have become obsolete.
  In these cases rptMart will not be able to update the report to the new drivers.
  You will need to open the report within CR and change the driver types to a current type.

Are there any special requirements for the CR reports that rptMart runs?
  No. If the report can run in CR you should have no trouble running it in rptMart.

USER INTERFACE
==============
Help! I can't find the menus.
  To keep its desktop footprint is as small as possible rptMart no main menu. The menus come off the buttons.
  Most menus are local context menus which are accessed by right clicking.

The colors on the window title bars look horrible.
  There are two possible reasons for this:
  1. You have picked horrible colors! or..
  2. You are running Windows in a 256 (or less) color mode.
  Set or turn off 'Special Captions' in the 'Setup/Preferences' dialog OR change the color mode to get more colors.

All my setup has changed. What's happened?
  Your setup is usually stored on your workstation.
  If you logon from another workstation your old setup won't be available.

Bobby can run the 'Sales' report but I can't. Why?
  Reports are made available to Access Groups.
  If you and Bobby are in different groups then you will probably have access to different reports.

I've forgotten my password. What can I do?
  Passwords are not stored in rptMart. Ask your rptMart administrator to give you a new password.

USER/REPORT MANAGEMENT
======================
How does rptMart reference a CR report?
  Each report record in rptMart stores the name of the CR file that it is based on.

How does rptMart reduce CR report file copies?
  Many report records can reference the same CR file.

How does a user get access to a report?
  Each report record belongs to a report group AND each user belongs to a user control group.
  The user can only access the report if the two groups are linked
