Financial Analysis For Windows is a collection of 19 modules or
sub-programs that can be used to analyze a wide range of investment
and financial problems involving time and money. These include:

HOME/BUSINESS
Mortgage with amortization and comparison of terms
  Rule 78 with amortization
  Retirement Planning
  Auto Lease
Save For Future - Save for college, new car, etc

INVESTMENTS
Bonds and Notes - professional quality. Used by bond traders
  Bond Portfolio (Ladder)
  US Treasury Bills
  Certificates of Deposit
  Bankers Acceptance
  Portfolio Hedge
  Black-Scholes (Options)
  Cash Flow Analysis (IRR,MIRR,NPV)

GENERIC
  Compound Interest
  Annuity
  Days Between Dates
  Random Numbers
  Calculator
  Calander

In most cases, you select the unknown to solve and enter the known
values. Calculation not only provides the unknown value but several
other parameters pertinent to the problem. Calculation results are
also displayed in a "what-if" spreadsheet and chart form which, for
example, allow comparison of bank terms for a mortgage or effect of
change in interest rates on a bonds price. Output can be sent to
screen, printer and, in some cases, a comma delimited text file for
spreadsheet import.

INSTALLAION
By now you have unzipped the archive file. In order to conserve space, the necessary "run-time" file VBRUN300.DLL is not included in this archive file and must be obtained separately. There are several sources for this file such as:

ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/win3/dll/vbrun300.zip

Once this file is downloaded and unzipped, place it in the directory where you unzipped the WinFin program files.

If you already have VBRUN300.DLL in your Windows\System directory, you do not need to download the file. You can execute the program WinFin.exe but if you wish to actually install the program, as described below, copy the VBRUN300.DLL from your Windows\System directory to the directory containing the unzipped WinFin files.

Once the files are unzipped, you can run WinFin by using the command
WinFin.exe. Or, you can actually install the program by using the
command Setup.exe. The latter will copy the appropriate runtime files
to your Windows\System directory, allow you to select an installation
directory for the WinFin program and create program groups.

You are encouraged to print out the instruction manual,
WinFin.doc or, for Windows 3.1 users, WinFin.wri.

This program is provided as SHAREWARE. If you like the program,
please register it for the price of $39.00. A program disc with
the latest version and an automatic, self-installation will be sent to
you. You can use the "ORDER.TXT" file or in the program main menu,
select "About" then "Order" to fill in the blanks.

This shareware version can be freely distributed as shareware.
