Overview

Use this form to:
	1) Setup pager numbers 1 - 8.
	2) Setup voice call phone numbers 1 - 8.
	3) Assign a remote user password 4 - 8 digits.
	4) Enter the system reset timeout time in minutes.
	5) Select the system audio alarm file path.
	6) Set wake up call parameters.

File Menu

	-Information Sheet, how you got here.

	-Emergency Hang Up allows you to hang up an open modem line.  You may encounter this while you are testing and\or learning to use the program.

	-Set Blind Dialing Mode, used to change the way the application dials numbers.  Some modems do not handle the Hayes silence command "@" properly.  The "@" character is used in a dial string to cause the modem to wait for five seconds of silence after the called party answers before sending the remaining dial string.  This is perfect for dialing a numerical pager.
  
	1) If your modem does not handle the "@" character it will send the dial string as one long number.  For instance, the dial string ATDT788-3073@555-101-1234 will dial the entire string 78830735551011234.

	2) It should dial 788-3073, wait for answer, wait for 5 seconds of silence, then send the remaing digits 555-101-1234.  

	3) A very poor work around is to employ blind dialing.  Blind dialing dials the number 788-3073,,,555-101-1234 as follows: It dials 788-3073, waits for six seconds (2 seconds per ","), then sends 555-101-1234, the remainder of the dial string.  Blind dialing cannot tell if the pager service answered.  It cannot tell if an error or busy signal occured.  IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU DO NOT EMPLOY BLIND DIALING.

Shell Menu

	-Shell Session writes the current run's communication detail to notepad.  This data is in the file runpgrmp.dtl which gets renamed to runpgrmp.run when the program terminates.

	-Shell Previous Session writes the previous run's communication detail to notepad.  This data is from runpgrmp.dtl which is renamed runpgrmp.run when the application terminates.  The configuration information at the time of the run is appended to the detail.

	-Clear Current Session Detail clears the communications detail file runpgrmp.dtl.

	-Military Time Conversion for use in the Wake Up Call Start and Stop times.

Entry Fields
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	-Pager Number, enter your numeric pager direct dial phone number.  Button switches between one of eight pager number entries which can be individually sected when the trip events are setup.  As a means of identification you may enter a name following the pager number using a space as a seperation delimiter.  e.g. 555-1234 John Doe.  The application will handle the timing and control characters automatically unless you choose to do so as in free form mode below.
	Valid characters are as follows "0" to "9" "," "*" "@" and "#".  If characters other than 0 to 9 are detected it is assumed that the user is determining the timing and makeup of the dial string in a free form mode.   If commas are used as a delay before answer rather than the wait for silence character "@" the modem cannot determine if the pager service answered just as in blind dialing.  (-See the explanation on normal and blind dialing above.)  For instance to send a sky page call enter the number as: 1-800-123-4567@1234567#,, John Doe

	1-800-123-4567@1234567#,,555-101-1200 	e.g. free form pager call with error detection

	1-800-123-4567,,,1234567#,,555-101-1200 e.g. no silence char, call can't detect errors

	Please note: While the pager and phone number\name fields allow up to 48 characters the Hayes command is limited to 39 characters per AT command or dial string.  Use the Shell Session Menu to see how the number was dialed.
	
	-Phone Number, enter your voice call phone numbers.  Button switches between one of eight phone number entries which can be individually sected when the trip events are setup.  As a means of identification you may enter a name following the phone number using a space as a seperation delimiter.  e.g. 1-800-555-1234 Jane Doe.

	-Remote User Password, the four to eight digit password to be entered when calling in to the computer.  The password field is not necessary but if employed it must be four to eight digits in length.

	-Alarm System Reset Time, the maximum time in minutes that an alarm may run before being reset.  All alarms and event trips are reset when this time expires.  The countdown begins on the activation of the first event trip.  No trip may set a second time until the system resets.

	-System Audio Alarm File Path, enter or select the file path of the audio wave or midi file using the common file list box controls.  First Click on the text box field then make your selection.  Please Note: The system audio alarm is played repeatedly once started until the system resets but may be suspended and resumed or overridden.

	-Wake Up Calls Start At, if used, starting time period limits the use of wake up calls to a range. Enter the starting time as HHMM or HH:MM.  For all the time leave blank.  You may also select a time period from the time menu once the text control has the focus.

	-Wake Up Calls Stop At, if used, ending time period limits the use of wake up calls to a range. Enter the ending time as HHMM or HH:MM.  For all the time leave blank.  You may also select a time period from the time menu once the text control has the focus.

     	-Select the next pager number entry field from 1 to 8 number/name entries.

        -Decrement the next pager number entry field selection from 8 to 1. 

     	-Select the next voice call phone number entry field from 1 to 8 number/name entries.

        -Decrement the next voice call phone number entry field selection from 8 to 1.

	-Clear the remote user password.

	-Clear or set the default system alarm reset timeout value.

	-Select the system audio alarm file path.

Check Boxes

	-Phone Numbers Are Used As Wake Up Calls, places a voice call with up to 10 rings and when answered sends the 10 digit string "5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5".  The answering party will hear a series of 10 beeps with 2 second pauses between them.  This is employed as a wake up signal.  The user may then check his pager for precise numerical port zone trip event information.  This is used in lieu of the speaker-phone call on a trip event.

Buttons

	-Test Pager Number, sends a test message 1234567890 to the pager.

	-Test Phone Number, places a voice call.  If phone numbers are used as wake up calls, then 5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5 is sent to the called number after the line is answered and five seconds of silence has been detected.  The answering party will hear a series of 10 beeps with 2 second pauses between them.  Otherwise a speaker-phone voice call is established.

	-Return, returns control to the previous form.

	-Next brings up the next form.
