ATOMS, BONDING AND STRUCTURE v 1.1 Ray Le Couteur 1997-1999

SHAREWARE
Atoms, Bonding and Structure is Shareware ('try before you buy software'). If you
wish to continue using it after a 30 day trial, you must register (pay for) it.

OVERVIEW
A unique interactive Multimedia Chemistry Tutor which tests students as they learn
(it uses the internal speaker if you don't have a soundcard). As far as possible,
skills are taught through familiar examples, to help reinforce general chemical
knowledge. New concepts are taught by frequent reference to the online Periodic
Tables. The eight units are: Elements, Compounds and Mixtures; Forming Compounds;
Atomic Structure; Chemical Bonds; Ionic Bonding; Covalent Bonding; Structure of
Materials; Bond Energies. Companion program to 'Atom's, Symbols and Equations'.

OPTIONS
There is an option to 'trap' the user within a unit once started (to help
teachers ensure that pupils stay on task), with a password required to exit.
The decision whether to trap users and the password can be changed by selecting
the 'Change Options' icon from the 'Atoms Bonding & Structure' group or folder).
There is also an option to provide answers.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Almost any computer running Windows 3.1/95/98. The program requires the file
vbrun300.dll, which is probably on your system already. If not, you will
get an error message when you first run the program. For details of how to
obtain and install this file, click the 'Read Me' icon after installation.

INSTALLATION
Simply run "setup" and follow on screen instructions.

NETWORK INSTALLATION
Installation should be carried out by the network administrator and should
be very easy, as all files are installed into the single program directory.
However, security measures can prevent files being installed or the
installation of icons in the programs menu.

The uninstall icon should not be available to network users.

RUNNING THE PROGRAM
Win 3.1: Run the program by clicking on the 'Bonding' icon in the 'Atoms,
Bonding & Structure' group which will be on your desktop.

Win95/98: From the Start Menu, select Programs and then 'Atoms, Bonding &
Structure'. Click the 'Bonding' icon to run the program.

UNINSTALLATION
Click on the uninstall icon.

YEAR 2000
The program has been tested for Year 2000 compliancy.
