     BASELINE.EXE Version 4.1 (DOS Format)

Thank-you for previewing the shareware version of
BASELINE. This file briefly describes the main features
of BASELINE and then explains how to get the program up
     and running on your computer.

BASELINE is a fast and convenient tool for producing
baseball game lineups. After entering the team roster
once at the start of a season, BASELINE helps you to
easily create a complete game lineup on the screen
using a minimum of keystrokes. You can generate both
batting and fielding lineups and then print a one page
output for use at the game. Absent players can be
automatically removed and replaced in the lineup.

BASELINE was originally designed for a recreational
baseball league with fair play rules that require each
player be assigned a minimum of two innings of infield
by the end of the sixth inning in a seven inning game.

Now BASELINE is suitable for any baseball, fastball,
softball, or T-ball team, and is easily configured to
handle different fielding arrangements and number of
     innings played.

Coaches at all levels of competitiveness can easily
generate game lineups in less than half the time it
takes to do them manually, while optimizing the
positioning of each player and meeting any fair play
     requirements of their league.

     INSTALLATION

Before you start the installation make a backup copy of
     the zip file BASEV41.ZIP file.

To install the program from a floppy disk first create
a new directory on your C: or other logical drive.
From the DOS command prompt in the root directory type:

          C:\> MD BASELINE

Next, change to the new directory and copy the zip file
BASEV41.ZIP and the text file BASEV41.TXT to this new
directory from the A: drive (for example):

          C:\> CD BASELINE
          C:\> COPY A:*.*

From within this new directory, use PKUNZIP to extract
     the BASELINE files from BASEV41.ZIP:

          C:\> PKUNZIP BASEV41.ZIP

To run the BASELINE shareware program, execute the batch
file RUNBLINE.BAT from the DOS prompt. This batch file
executes BASELINE.EXE with the command line argument
     BASELINE.CFG (configuration file):

          C:\> RUNBLINE

Note: Before running BASELINE check that your
CONFIG.SYS file has a device driver statement
               similar to:

               DEVICE = ANSI.SYS
