who wish to distribute the Patchit 2.9 package, including an extract from
the license agreement and suggested program descriptions and keywords.

                               Distribution

The complete license agreement is contained in the file LICENSE.TXT.

The following paragraph is an extract from the license agreement
regarding the distribution of the Shareware version of Patchit:

    You are specifically prohibited from charging, or requesting
    donations, for any such copies, however made; and from distributing
    the software and/or documentation with other products (commercial or
    otherwise) without prior written permission, with one exception:

                      Obtaining the Latest Version

Before distributing Patchit please verify that you have the latest
version.  The latest version of Patchit is always available on the

                         Suggested Description

Patchit is a scientific data acquisition program written for performing
electrophysiological recordings (voltage/current vs time) experiments.
It is widely applicable to other data acquisition purposes.  It runs on
IBM PC compatibles in graphics mode and requires a data acquisition board.
The currently supported data acquisition boards are those in the Data
Translation DT2821 family and the Scientific Solutions (Tecmar) Labmaster
family.

Patchit can acquire on up to 16 channels of data while simultaneously
generating up to 2 analog and 14 binary (TTL) output waveforms   Acquired
data can be stored in native format (Patchit) or in Clampex format (pClamp
- Axon Instruments) either of which can be analyzed using the companion
data analysis program "Tack".

                              Requirements

Requires DOS 3.1 or higher, 1 MB RAM, (2 MB recommended).  1 MB available
on disk.  Supported data acquisition adapter.  Supported graphics display
(most are).

US $50.00 to receive a disk with latest version.
