                        Recovery Problems

The following table lists several common problems and the
utilities you can use to correct them. The utilities are listed
in the order in which you should use them.

File deleted                       QU <NUQU> (with versions 3.1, 4.0,
                                   and 4.5); if unsuccessful, NU <NUNU>

Directory removed                  UD <NUUD>(with versions 3.1, 4.0,
                                   and 4.5); then recover deleted
                                   files with QU <NUQU>

Disk formatted erroneously         FR <NUFR> (with versions 4.0 and 4.5,
                                   Advanced Edition only), NU <NUNU>

Data in bad cluster                DT <NUDT> with /M switch (with
                                   versions 4.0 and 4.5)








DOS Recover run erroneously        FR <NUFR> (with versions 4.0 and 4.5,
                                   Advanced Edition only), NU <NUNU>
                                   (These utilities work best if
                                   you have previously run FR
                                   /SAVE on the disk.)  

Format run erroneously             FR <NUFR> (with versions 4.0 and 4.5,
                                   Advanced Edition only), NU <NUNU>
