                       ARCHIVE CONTENTS

There are four categories of files in this archive.
   They are:

1: Astronomical Programs.
These programs calculate the rising and setting times of the
sun and moon and the phases and illuminated fraction of the
moon for any location and date on earth. They also calculate
Julian day numbers, lunation numbers and convert dates from
   one calendar system to another.

2: Calculated Biblical Calendar Programs.
These programs use more exact extensions of the Astronomical
calculations introduced in Category 1 to estimate the correct
time of God's Holy Days. The dates depend on the visibility
of the crescent New Moon in Jerusalem. The CALIBRATION
program included in this archive has a section which explains
how the Biblical calendar programs work and what the output
details mean. These results can be combined with Biblical
chronology to determine the probable time of Christ's death,
the Exodus from Egypt under Moses, the Flood during Noah's
life, and the Creation, along with other dates. It also
suggests a possible timetable for the Great Tribulation
and Christ's Return, though remember that we can only know
these times exactly AFTER they happen.

3: Radioactive Carbon Dating Program.
This program examines the effects an upper atmospheric water
canopy, changes in the Earth's magnetic field and reduction
in available carbon after the Genesis Flood could have on
Radiocarbon Dating. This study yields some controversial
results, perhaps too extreme, and is currently under review.

4: Text files that explain the use and significance of the
above categories. Some of the text files add extra material
that is related to the content of the programs. They are
supplied as ********.htm files, useage explained below.

Extra HTML text files that explore the significance of the
above programs can be found on our WEB site at
  http://www.cbl.com.au/~bga/

The programs will run under DOS, Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.
Ease of use is provided via a menu program called BIBLCAL.

                         INSTALLATION
The files will occupy about 925 kb of space after extraction.
We recommend that additional documentation from WEB site is
copied to the same directory to simplify useage. The archive
file (cbc93ii.zip) can be copied to disk and given away after
installation or deleted to conserve hard disk space.

DOS Installation: Copy the cbc93ii.zip self-extracting archive
to a drive and directory (ie folder) of your choice. A loca-
tion like C:\BIBLCLDR would be appropriate. Move to the drive
and directory where the archive is and type pkunzip cbc93ii.zip
to run the extraction process if you have PKUNZIP on your path.
If you do not have an UNZIP program on your computer, you will
need to download one and place it on your path, usually by placing
the program in the C:/DOS directory. (Though if you are reading
this, you have probably already done the above steps.)

When finished installing, run the programs by typing
  C:<Enter> CD \BIBLCLDR<Enter> BIBLCAL<Enter>

Windows 3.1 installation: Use your File Manager to create a new
directory (Select File, Create Directory with a name like
C:\BIBLCLDR Drag the archive (cbc93ii.zip) into the new
directory. Then double-click cbc93ii.zip to initiate the
extraction process. (Assuming you have WINZIP or PKUNZIP
installed on your computer. If not, you must download a copy
of one of them -preferably WINZIP- and install it first.
The programs can be run by double-clicking the
BIBLCAL.EXE file, but adding an icon to a Program Group
  is a better long-term choice.
  Adding an Icon:
After extraction, open the Group in Program Manager to which
you want to add the new program. Next go to the File menu and
select New, then select Program Item. Then type in a des-
cription, such as Biblical Calendar. For Command line enter
C:\BIBLCLDR\BIBLCAL.EXE and for working directory enter
C:\BIBLCLDR. Then click on Change Icon and type in
C:\BIBLCLDR\NEWMOON.ICO. Click on OK and it's ready to use.
Double-click on the God's Calendar icon to start the program.

Windows 95 Installation: From Windows explorer, select
File / New / Folder. Move to the new folder icon and rename
it something like BIBLICAL CALENDAR. Copy the CBC93II.ZIP
file to the new folder. Double click on it to extract the
files compressed in it. (This is assuming you have WINZIP95
installed on your computer. If not, you need to download and
install this useful archive handling program first.)
Close WINZIP after extracting the compressed
  files from cbc93ii.zip. Double clicking
the BIBLCAL.EXE file will start the programs, but a
shortcut on the Start Menu will be more convenient in
the long run and improve the clarity of the text.

To put a shortcut on the Start Menu, click the Start button.
Then select Settings, Taskbar, Start Menu Programs in
succession. Select Add and type in
C:\BIBLICAL CALENDAR\BIBLCAL.EXE (or whatever path you
chose.) Select NEXT, then choose a folder to put the
shortcut in (eg Programs). Select Next and give the program
an appropriate name. Again Biblical Calendar would be OK.
Accept the offered icon and click Finish. Now, select
Advanced, and then Programs if that is the folder you
chose for the shortcut. Find the shortcut and right-click
on it. Select Properties, then Screen. Now select
Full-screen. Click the Program tab at the top and then
  select Change Icon.
Type in the name of the folder the programs have been
installed in and the NEWMOON icon, eg C:\BIBLICAL
CALENDAR\NEWMOON.ICO Click on OK and then on OK
again to finish the process. Do NOT click the
Close on Exit switch under Program as it will stop the
  menu program from working correctly.

The HTML text files included are best read with any Internet
browser, or with the LIKSE HTML viewer, also available
from the SIMTEL archives. Some can also be read with simple
text editors like MS-DOS Edit or Notebook.

We hope you find the files in this Freeware archive challenging.
Further documentation is available from our WEB site or from
us directly. We would be pleased to hear your comments,
suggestions, problems, etc. We also have free booklets
available which examine the teachings of the Bible.
